with Paris&Co

Paris&Co organises a number of events to foster communication and cooperation between the different segments of the Parisian economy.

Value creation and innovation often arise from meetings, unexpected discoveries and moments of barrier-breaking opportunity.

Hacking de l'Hôtel de Ville

Paris is an enormous hotbed of innovation, with over 130,000 m² of premises for incubators, 5,000 startups in the Paris region and around 1,500 new startups created each year. The goal of the city’s administration is ambitious: to make Paris a global hub for the innovation economy.
On Wednesday, 20 May, the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo has given the keys of the City Hall to more than 1,600 actors of Paris innovation ecosystem (startups, investors, corporations, state decision-makers, foreign companies operating in Paris, etc.) through four different events:

  • Start Up Meet Up brought together 260 specially selected startups in a large speed dating event to meet with clients, partners, suppliers and purchasing advisors. Céline Lazorthes, CEO of Leetchi and Mangopay, sponsored the event.
  • The 50 Startups Council. Fifty companies were given the opportunity to pitch in the historic Salle du Conseil de Paris to 170 investors and corporate directors. The event, launched by Jacques-Antoine Granjon (founder of vente-privé, was also live streamed to other innovation hotspots around the world.
  • Start Up Job Day gave startups looking for special talent the opportunity to present themselves to about 100 carefully selected job seekers.
  • After welcoming over 1,600 people across all the events, the day ended on an international note. International students and directors of foreign companies operating in Paris met during a presentation by French Tech Ticket and a speech by Scott Heiferman, CEO of Meetup and organiser of Tech Meetup at the White House, which took place on 17 April.

The French Tech Ticket scheme had been launched earlier in the day by Axelle Lemaire, Minister of State for Digital Affairs, and Jean-Louis Missika, Deputy Mayor of Paris responsible for economic development and attraction of investment.
