The American company Disease Diagnostic Group winner of the second edition of the International Innovation Awards.
On Thursday 3 December, the City of Paris and Paris&Co announced the winner of the International Innovation Awards (iiAwards). This event, which took place during the Grand Prix de l’Innovation, demonstrates the dynamism, diversity and creativity of the innovation ecosystem of Paris, which is a strong factor in what makes the capital attractive for investment and business.
The second edition of the iiAwards, which showcases start-ups that have developed to an international level, aims to help foreign start-ups to benefit from French incubators.
Two hundred eight projects were submitted and twenty-one finalists selected. These start-ups were invited to come to Paris to present their projects to an audience composed of technology experts, decision-makers and investors, including members of Paris&Co's Open Innovation Club, representing 70 major French companies.
The six winning start-ups of the iiAwards will also have the opportunity to take part in a three-month incubation program in one of Paris&Co's incubators. The start-up in first place will receive a prize of €20,000.
The winner of the iiAwards 2015 is Disease Diagnostic Group – DDG (http://www.diseasediagnostic.com/), which is focused on screening, tracking, and diagnosing highly infectious and neglected tropical diseases that have transmission issues in the developing world through portable and reusable devices.
DDG was part of the “Young Entrepreneur Initiative” American delegation welcomed by Paris&Co in November for a 5-day program in France.
