On 15 June 2017, Paris&Co, the economic development and innovation agency of Paris, has officialised a new major partnership agreement with Barcelona to support the international growth of startups.
Paris' Deputy Mayor Jean-Louis Missika and Gerardo Pisarello, first Deputy Mayor of Barcelona, announced a partnership giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to benefit from free workspace and dedicated soft landing programs in their respective cities. In this context, up to 3 selected Parisian startups will be hosted in the new Media TIC incubator in the 22@ tech district in Barcelona, during 4 to 8 weeks.
The agreement was signed between Paris&Co and Barcelona Activa, the Local Economic Development Agency of Barcelona. Karine Bidart, Co-CEO of Paris&Co, states that "this partnership with Barcelona is a fantastic opportunity to extend our European innovation network towards the south. Just like Paris, Barcelona has a very dynamic and attractive tech scene, so we hope this program can trigger cross-border business opportunities for startups in both cities."
